GW Planner

Privacy policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

GW Planner collects as little as it can: an email address if you create an account, the public FPL team ID you choose to enter, and anonymous usage analytics. This page explains it in full.

Who we are

GW Planner (gwplanner.com) is an independent analytics and planning tool for players of Fantasy Premier League. It is operated by its founder as a sole proprietor. Questions about this policy go to hello@gwplanner.com. GW Planner is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Premier League or any football club.

What we collect and why

  • Account details. If you create an account: your email address, a display name, and a password (stored only as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email, name and profile picture and nothing else. We use these to sign you in, to send account emails (verification, sign-in links, password resets) and to remember your saved team ID across devices.
  • Your FPL team ID. A number you choose to enter. We use it to read the public data the official FPL site exposes for that team (squad, points, mini-leagues). We never ask for, and cannot access, your FPL login or password.
  • Payments. Pro subscriptions and season passes are sold through Polar, our merchant of record. Polar collects your payment details; we only receive the status of your purchase and a customer reference. We never see or store card numbers.
  • Usage analytics. We use PostHog (EU data centre) to understand which features are used. We record page views and a small set of product events (for example that a team was imported or a plan was viewed). Signed-in users are identified by an internal user ID, not by email. We do not use advertising trackers.
  • Technical logs. Our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, time) for security and debugging, for up to 30 days.
  • Browser storage. A session cookie keeps you signed in. Local storage holds conveniences such as your theme choice, the team you last viewed and your last live score, so the site can show what changed. Analytics may store an identifier in local storage or a first-party cookie.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal data.
  • We do not show third-party advertising.
  • We do not send marketing email unless you joined the waitlist or opted in; every such email has an unsubscribe link.

Where data is processed

The service runs on servers in Germany. Analytics are processed by PostHog in the EU. Emails are sent through Resend and payments through Polar; each processes data under its own privacy policy and our agreement with them. Public FPL data is fetched from the official Fantasy Premier League API.

How long we keep it

Account data stays until you delete your account. Waitlist emails stay until launch emails are sent or you unsubscribe. Analytics events are kept for up to 12 months. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Backups are rotated within 30 days.

Your rights

You can see and change your account details on the Account page and delete your account there at any time; deletion removes your account, saved team ID and session immediately, and purchase records are kept only as long as tax law requires. You can also ask us to export or erase your data, or object to processing, by emailing hello@gwplanner.com. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

GW Planner is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note the new date at the top of this page and, for account holders, say so by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
